MONROE CO. — Two juveniles are in custody following a high-speed chase early Tuesday morning involving a stolen SUV in Monroe County.
According to Sheriff Troy Goodnough, the incident began around Mall Road in Frenchtown Township, where Michigan State Police responded to reports of larceny from vehicles and a stolen 2018 Ford Edge.
Using Flock camera data, authorities tracked the stolen vehicle to I-75 near Laplaisance Road. Monroe County Deputy Austin Graham located the SUV and attempted a traffic stop near Elm Street, but the vehicle fled northbound.
The pursuit continued for several miles until officers brought it to a stop near Van Horn and Telegraph Roads in Brownstown Township. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident and lodged at the Monroe County Youth Center.
Officials say the juveniles may also be linked to breaking and entering incidents reported overnight in the same area.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office or leave an anonymous tip at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
