ADRIAN — The National Weather Service is warning of dangerous heat levels across Michigan starting Wednesday, July 23.
Most of the state faces an Orange – Moderate heat risk, with conditions escalating to Red – Major risk on Thursday for much of the Lower Peninsula.
Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s, with heat index values topping 100 degrees. Overnight lows in the upper 70s may offer little relief, especially for those without air conditioning.
Extended heat risks are likely into the following week.
Health officials urge caution to prevent heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat, and check on vulnerable individuals.
