TECUMSEH — Tecumseh Public Schools has announced that the Community Memorial Pool will remain closed indefinitely due to newly discovered structural concerns.

Engineering tests revealed degradation in the steel columns of the pool building, prompting the district to begin comprehensive structural testing, with results expected by October 1st.

In a statement, Superintendent Matt Hilton said, “We are working diligently to secure alternative swim practice sites for our boys and girls swim teams. We understand this creates additional challenges for our athletic programs and will communicate arrangements as soon as they are confirmed.”

He also confirmed that all community programs remain suspended, including swim lessons, open swim hours, Tigersharks, and aquatic exercise classes.

Refunds and pass extensions will continue to be honored.

The district emphasized that safety remains the top priority, and future updates will be shared through its website and social media.
