ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed there was no credible threat after a false report of a person with a gun at the Lenawee County Fair Wednesday night.

Deputies were notified during the fair’s closing hours of a possible armed subject, along with social media posts fueling the claim.

After responding to the area and investigating the posts, officers determined the report was false and likely originated from a Snapchat prank intended to incite panic.

The Sheriff’s Office says no one was ever threatened, and the situation was thoroughly investigated and found to be unfounded.

Sheriff Troy Bevier emphasized the fair remains safe and secure, and urged the public to continue enjoying the event.

The department is working with the Lenawee County Fair Board to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees.
