SYLVANIA TWP — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred just after midnight on July 20 in Sylvania Township, Lucas County.

A 31-year-old woman was riding a GoTrax electric scooter south on North Holland Sylvania Road when she was struck by an unknown vehicle near Huntingfield Boulevard. She died at the scene.

The vehicle fled and has not been identified. Investigators say it likely has damage to the right front headlight and is missing the right passenger mirror.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The road was closed for about 90 minutes but has since reopened.

The Sylvania Township Police and Fire Departments, along with the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, assisted at the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
