TECUMSEH — Downtown Tecumseh is getting ready for a major parking lot upgrade starting next month.
Beginning the week of August 3, the northwest downtown parking lot — located behind Martin’s Home Center, Basil Boys, City Diner, and other local businesses — will be closed for repaving.
The project is expected to take 3 to 4 weeks, with no traffic access during that time. The lot was last resurfaced in 2002 and has exceeded its expected lifespan.
During construction, on-street parking will be available on Pearl, Logan, and Evans Streets, and overnight parking will be allowed on all side streets and Chicago Boulevard.
Directional signs and City staff will be on hand to guide visitors throughout the project.
