ADRIAN — Adrian’s current and former mayors have come together to launch a new charitable foundation focused on supporting local projects.
The group’s primary fundraiser is the Adrian Mayors’ Charity Gala, held for the first time on July 4 at the Adrian Armory.
Proceeds from this year’s event totaled $3,000 and were donated to the Lenawee Historical Society to help fund a $60,000 plaster restoration project.
Half of future Gala funds will go to a selected organization each year. The rest will be invested through the Lenawee Community Foundation to benefit future Adrian residents.
