SANDUSKY — Fans of Tommy Boy and 1990s comedy can relive the laughs and hijinks just 90 minutes from Adrian this August, as Sandusky hosts the Tommy Boy Fest from August 7–9, 2025.
The three-day celebration marks the 30th anniversary of the cult classic film, partially set in the fictional Sandusky-based Callahan Auto Parts. Locals from Lenawee County looking for a road trip getaway will find themed events, live music, screenings, and food packed into the lakeside city.
The festival opens Thursday with a Party at the Pier, featuring food trucks, live music, vendors, and a “Tommy Boy” look-alike contest hosted by Chris Farley’s brother, Kevin Farley. Later, Farley will perform stand-up comedy, followed by an outdoor screening of the film.
Friday includes a Movie Classics Car Show featuring vehicles from Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park, as well as the original Tommy Boy convertible. A 90s-themed party cruise and a double feature screening cap off the night.
Saturday’s highlights include the Tommy Want Wingy Throwdown, a .5K “Fat Guy in a Little Race,” trivia contests, live 90s cover bands, and a beer festival downtown. The weekend wraps with a Q&A and screening featuring Tommy Boy director Peter Segal.
Local businesses will offer themed menus and attractions. Full schedules and planning tools are available at TommyBoyFest.com and ShoresandIslands.com.
