LENAWEE CO. — Lenawee County commissioners have approved over $14.1 million in accounts payable payments, finalizing routine expenditures for the month of June. The general fund covered more than $415,000 of the total.

The approval follows the standard monthly review by the County Accounts Payable Committee, which met June 26 to audit check runs from throughout the month. The board’s ratification marks the final step in the public accounting process and ensures spending remains transparent.

The five check runs ranged from $554,000 to over $8.2 million, with the largest tied to delinquent tax distributions. General fund contributions covered operational costs across multiple departments, including law enforcement, administration, and infrastructure.

All figures were reviewed in advance by finance staff. No public comment was offered before the vote.

The county’s next financial reporting cycle will include grant-backed projects and construction spending. Upcoming payments are expected to reflect rising costs in public safety and health services.
