WOODSTOCK TWP. — Funeral services have been scheduled for the one-year-old child who passed away following a lawn mower accident in Woodstock Township.
The family is working to raise $10,000 to help cover funeral and burial costs, along with grief counseling services to support family members through the grieving process.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, in the 11000 block of Herold Highway. According to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office, the child was accidentally struck by a riding lawn mower operated by the child’s grandmother. Deputies said the grandmother was unaware the child was outside at the time.
Emergency crews transported the child to a local hospital, where the child was later pronounced dead. The Addison Fire Department and the Somerset Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The family has requested thoughts, prayers, and community support as they navigate this time of loss.
A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, from 10 a.m. to noon at Purse Funeral Home, located at 2959 Adrian Highway in Adrian. The funeral will follow immediately at noon, with burial at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn.
The family has created a fundraising page to assist with the costs of the funeral, burial, and grief counseling services. All donations will go directly to supporting the family during this difficult time.
