Milton Antonio “Tony” Cuevas, age 53, of Adrian, passed away in his home on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Born on October 24, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Milton and Sandra (Crout) Cuevas. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for seven years where he was called to active duty in Operation Desert Storm. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and went on to dedicate his life to public service.

On November 27, 1993, Tony married Rita Coss in Rockwood, Michigan. They celebrated over 31 wonderful years together.

Tony served with distinction in law enforcement for three decades. He spent 24 years with the Michigan State Police before becoming Chief of Police for the Clinton Police Department, where he led for six years. He was an active member of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and demonstrated his passion for mentoring youth by founding the Criminal Justice Club at Clinton High School.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tony’s greatest success was his children and grandchildren. Tony found great joy in spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed lending a hand to his children with house projects.

To cherish his memory, Tony leaves his loving wife, Rita; a daughter, Mari (Bill) Strasz; two sons, Matthew (Selina) and Michael (Morgan) Cuevas; parents, Milton and Sandra Cuevas; sister, Sandra (Steve) Oberski; brother, Jacob Cuevas; five grandchildren: Marianna, Faith, Amelia, Gracelyn, and Liam; niece and nephew, Layla and Owen; and Rita’s loving family.

He was preceded in death by a paternal grandfather, Ezequiel Cuevas; maternal grandmother, Jessie Crout; maternal grandfather, Raymond Crout; two uncles, Raymond J. Crout and Vincente Feliciano; and an aunt, Mary Crowl.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services for Tony will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Clinton High School beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh for family and close friends.

Memorial contributions in memory of Tony may be made to his grandchildren to help in the furthering of their education.
