John L. June, age 81, of Adrian, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born December 11, 1943, in Adrian, Michigan to William and Florence (Daughtery) June. John was a 1962 graduate of Tecumseh High School. After graduation John enlisted in the US Navy, where he proudly served and he completed 1 tour in Vietnam. During his time in the Navy, John received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for saving two soldiers pinned down by the VC.

John started working at Ford Motor Company after his time in the service, which he retired from after 30 years. Also, Ford Motor Company is where he met the love of his life Maureen (McAtamney) which he married on June 27, 1981. John enjoyed golfing, fishing, swimming, and hunting. John also enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and poker with his family, and he enjoyed his sons taking him to the casino to play his slots. John was an avid Detroit Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, and Piston’s fan, but there was no doubt that he was one of the biggest University of Michigan football fans ever, he thoroughly enjoyed Michigan’s 2023 Championship year. John enjoyed his time owning J & J’s pawn shop with his brother Earl in Adrian. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and going to their events just as much as he did for his sons.

John is survived by his sons: Richard (Shelly) June, Christopher (Katie) June, and Jeremy June; grandchildren: Morgan, Rachel, Alex, and Madalyn. In addition to his parents, John is preceded by his wife, Maureen (2022); siblings: Chester, Lavina, Bob, Chan, Earl, Lila, Roger, and Colleen.
