Roger Cole DeJonghe, known to all as Cole, age 19, of Tecumseh, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Born on July 29, 2005, in Tecumseh, he was the beloved son of Roger Benjamin DeJonghe and Cassie Marie Colley. A proud graduate of Tecumseh High School’s Class of 2024, Cole began working for his grandfather’s business, All Seasons Underground Construction, where he embraced hands-on work with enthusiasm and dedication.

Cole was known for his infectious personality that drew people in. Always smiling and never one to dwell on negativity, he brought light and laughter wherever he went. His natural kindness and honesty made him a cherished presence among friends and family.

Cole had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing or working on his bikes and cars—never afraid to get dirty. He enjoyed playing soccer and especially loved golfing with his girlfriend, Paige. His playful spirit and goofiness were constants in his life, making every moment spent with him memorable.

He had a special way with children and animals alike. His family pets, Frannie and Rocky, held a dear place in his heart. Whether lending a hand to a friend at any hour or simply sharing a laugh, Cole lived with generosity and warmth that touched everyone who knew him.

To cherish his memory, Cole leaves his mother, Cassie (Nate) Anderson; father, Ben (Jenna) DeJonghe; Mike Hoffman, who was like a second father to him; girlfriend, Paige Koepfle; three siblings, Liam Hoffman, Sophia Anderson, and Makayla Mukensturm; grandparents: Ken and Christey Colley, Roger and Kathy Dejonghe, Joe and Julie Eaton, and Leo and Cindy Hoffman; great grandparents: Velma DeJonghe, Billie Colley, Homer Bailey and Tom and Peggy Bauer; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Cole was preceded in death by great grandparents Lev DeJonghe, Robert and Shirley Dunbar, Ron Colley, and Linda Bailey.

Though Cole had such a large family, he never missed an opportunity to attend a family gathering with any of his families.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh. Visitation will resume on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Maryann Reimund, officiating. Cremation will follow.
