Ted C. Underwood, age 73, of Adrian, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital.
He was born on June 17, 1951, in Tecumseh to William and Doris (Rhees) Underwood. Ted dedicated over two decades of his career to Peerless Gear before continuing his professional journey with L&W Engineering in Blissfield, from which he eventually retired.
On November 29, 1974, Ted married Helen May Benjamen at the United Church of Christ in Clinton. They raised two sons and celebrated over 50 wonderful years together.
Ted had a deep passion for race cars and classic cars. He especially enjoyed watching races and took pride in a family-owned race car. In addition to his love for motorsports, he found joy in bowling and played softball during his younger years.
To cherish his memory, Ted leaves his loving wife, Helen; two children, Todd (Holly) and Troy (Dawn) Underwood; four grandchildren: Brock, Bradie, Vanessa, and Paige; and two siblings, Marsha (Terry) Kershner and Tim (Brenda) Underwood. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Billy, Jim, and Tom.
