TECUMSEH — A 2018 graduate of Tecumseh High School, is now on track to become a combat-ready aviation professional in the United States Navy. Ensign Andrew Cameron, a Tecumseh native, is currently training at the Naval Aviation Schools Command in Pensacola, Florida.

Cameron joined the Navy six months ago after completing a degree in political science with a minor in aviation science from Western Michigan University. He is now enrolled in advanced aviation training that prepares enlisted and officer personnel for service across the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

The Naval Aviation Schools Command, located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, delivers academic and physical instruction through four dedicated training units. These include aircrew and rescue swimmer programs, water survival training, and leadership development. Cameron is one of many future aviators building technical skills and mission readiness in these programs.

Cameron recently completed Officer Candidate School, a key milestone in his Navy career.

As the U.S. Navy celebrates its 250th anniversary this year, Cameron joins a legacy of service members contributing to national security and maritime strength. His training marks the beginning of a career that supports global missions and advances America’s presence at sea.
