TECUMSEH — The 176-year-old Stacy Mansion in Tecumseh has officially reopened as a boutique bed and breakfast and event venue following seven months of restoration. The Italianate estate, originally built in 1848, is now welcoming guests and the public after years of limited use.
The transformation was led by new owners Serena Riley, Kim Freeman, and Danielle Ward. For the past two decades, the mansion had been owned by a part-time resident and used only occasionally. In late 2024, the trio acquired the property and began a full restoration to revive both its historical features and community presence.
Their vision: to honor the building’s legacy while creating a space for celebration, hospitality, and meaningful experiences. The result is a property that blends historic charm with modern amenities for visitors and event-goers alike.
The team officially reopened the mansion with a ribbon-cutting in early June. On Sunday, June 15, the public is invited to tour the estate during an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours will be offered throughout the day, with food from Pita Delight and coffee provided by Musgrove and Company.
The property’s new chapter includes boutique lodging, private events, and community gatherings. The mansion is positioned as both a romantic retreat and a destination for once-in-a-lifetime celebrations.

The Stacy Mansion is now open for bookings and plans to host weddings, overnight guests, and community events year-round. The team says their goal is simple: to turn this piece of Michigan history into a home for new memories.
