Philip “Phil” Frederick Daisher, age 87, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 9, 2025, with the support of his family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Phil was born on November 3, 1937, in Adrian, MI, the oldest child of Herbert and Helena (Dreher) Daisher’s five children. He graduated from Onsted High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation, Phil went on to serve in the United States Navy, and during his time completed two Mediterranean tours.
On August 22, 1959, Phil married his sweetheart, Carol Hoffman, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Adrian, where they have remained active lifetime members. For the next 65 years, Phil and Carol raised a family and worked on the family farm, creating many wonderful memories.
Phil had a strong work ethic and was always busy. He was a truck driver for many years and even hauled logs for his own logging business. Phil rarely needed to consult a map for directions as he had traveled all over and knew “the best route” to get to a destination. He found great satisfaction working on his farm and when his children were younger was involved in raising sheep and helping with their 4H projects.
Phil leaves behind a strong legacy with his family and will be missed greatly. In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by their children, Deanna Daisher (Craig) Borton, Denise Daisher (Mark) McKenzie, Dawn Daisher (Kim Johnson) and Douglas (Catherine) Daisher; grandchildren, Jacob (Patricia) McKenzie, Jeremy (Allison) McKenzie, Markie McKenzie (Patrick) Kilpatrick, Amanda Hensley (Eric) Siwecki, Matthew (Kalli) Hensley, Alexander (Stephanie) Borton, Grace Borton, Mitchell Lauer, Lydia Daisher (Noah) Bohl, Morgan Daisher (Snyder) Torres, Olivia Daisher (Chase) Wagner, Jillian Daisher (Jarret) Nighswander, Calie McKenzie, Shawn McKenzie and Jazmine McKenzie; great-grandchildren, Macie, Jaxon, Emmit, Savannah, Mila, Maya, Quinn, Olive, Viviana, Emersyn, Lucas and Thomas; sisters, Kathy Pryor, Phyllis Sandusky and Lillian (Jerry) Dils; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert; and brothers-in-law, Thomas Pryor and Charles Sandusky.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Adrian with Pastor Brian Keller officiating; with visitation taking place one hour before the service begins. Phil will be laid to rest at East Rome Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post #97.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Lutheran Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian, where online condolences and memories may be shared at www.WagleyFuneralHomes.com.
