ADRIAN — Stewart Friesen ended a 72-race winless streak with a dramatic victory in the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 at Michigan International Speedway — a triple-overtime NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race that went 24 laps beyond its scheduled distance.
Friesen, a 41-year-old Ontario native, surged from the middle of the pack to win the chaotic race, capitalizing on late-race cautions and restarts. His No. 52 Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota edged Grant Enfinger’s Chevy by just 0.111 seconds, marking Friesen’s first win since 2022.
The race featured nine cautions, 20 lead changes among 11 drivers, and a massive crash that took out leaders Ross Chastain and points leader Corey Heim. Pole-sitter Luke Fenhaus finished third, followed by Ben Rhodes and Corey LaJoie. Michigan native Carson Hocevar led 56 laps but finished 11th after a penalty in overtime.
Despite an 18th-place finish, Heim extended his season points lead to 133. The Truck Series returns June 20 at Pocono Raceway.
