Sally Anne Glenn, age 91, of Tecumseh MI, passed away May 22, 2025. Sally was born March 8, 1934 in Detroit MI, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Rieve) Bale.
Sally attended Ridgeway, Clinton, and Tecumseh schools, graduating from Tecumseh in 1952. She married Walter “Pete” Glenn in 1954, sharing 56 beautiful years together before Pete died in 2010.
Sally’s love of life was family gatherings, ballroom dancing, flower gardening and her childhood family cottage in Northern Michigan. Her family will miss her molasses cookies, and popcorn tubs.
Sally is survived by two daughters, June (Jeff) Elwell of Manitou Beach, and Jane (Jeff) Shirk of Adrian; son, Michael (Kelli) Glenn of Ypsilanti; grandchildren, Katherine (Joshua) Kidder, Ben (Lisa) Shirk, Emily (Mike) Mroz; Amber Glenn (Austin Harris), and Aaron (Hannah) Glenn; great grandsons, Ethan Kidder, Elijah Kidder; Benjamin Shirk, Evan Shirk; and brother, Robert Bale.
In addition to her husband Pete, she was preceded in death by her parents,
and brother, William Bale.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Purse & Son Funeral Home, 210 W. Pottawatamie Street, Tecumseh MI, with Rev. Richard Mortimer officiating. Visitation will also be on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, a donations can be made to a fund for an outdoor bench to be placed in Tecumseh in memory of Sally and Pete.
