ADRIAN — This summer, Lenawee’s littlest readers are getting a big boost thanks to a free five-day tutoring clinic led by local educators trained in the latest research-based reading strategies.

It’s all part of the Lenawee County Reading Clinic, hosted by the LISD. The clinic is more than just summer school — it’s a two-part program where teachers get smarter and students get stronger. First, educators complete eight sessions of professional training. Then, they put that knowledge to work, helping students grow their reading skills one hour at a time.

The tutoring is open to students exiting kindergarten through second grade who need extra support. Sessions will be held on June 18 and June 23–26 at the Porter Education Center in Adrian. Families can choose from two morning time slots, 8:30 or 9:30, but they must attend all five days and provide their ride.

Space is limited. This isn’t drop-in learning — it’s personalized instruction from educators trained in intervention techniques that work. Applications are due May 23, and placements will be announced by May 30. This clinic is a fast-track to reading confidence — and it’s completely free.

To apply, visit lisd.us/lcrc and secure your child’s spot. This summer, give them the tools to turn the page with confidence.
