ADRIAN — One shot changed everything at this year’s “Strokes for Students” golf outing: a hole-in-one by Ryan Gilbert aiding in a Blissfield team victory, and $50,000 raised for scholarships and student programs across Lenawee County.

Hosted by the Lenawee County Education Foundation, the annual fundraiser teed off on May 20 at Hills of Lenawee. It’s not your average golf outing — this one’s built lean so the dollars stretch further. Every dime goes to students. Scholarships. Career tools. Enrichment programs.

Over twenty teams hit the greens, including students from nearly every school district. Kids are paired off with adults to encourage community engagement.

Since it started, Strokes for Students has grossed nearly $1 million. That’s tuition checks, hands-on programs, and futures funded right here in Lenawee County.
