Shirley A. Gibson, age 89, of Tecumseh, MI passed away May 21, 2025.
She was born June 12, 1935, in Altoona, PA, the daughter of John Arthur and Margaret Marcella (Fuller) Mearnic. On October 20, 1979, she married James H. Gibson, in Saline, MI and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2017.
She is survived by six children, Rosemary (Michael) Knofski,
Donald Kennedy, Warren (Lori) Kennedy, Terry Kennedy (Andrew Kupraszewicz), Sheryl (David) Staten, and Patricia (Michael) Trudell; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Fitzgerald Kennedy on June 14, 2014
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, Michigan.
Visitation will also take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Michigan from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service.
Following the burial, everyone is invited to return to Purse & Son Funeral Home, Tecumseh, for a funeral luncheon in honor of Shirley.
