Emergency Planners Identify Gaps and Set Goals to Eliminate Them

ADRIAN — Emergency Planners in Lenawee County conducted a tabletop exercise to test the county’s readiness for a long-term power outage.

The scenario simulated widespread utility failure and required coordination between multiple local agencies. Staff reviewed emergency protocols and communication systems in order to identify gaps in their response.

The results: several improvement goals were set, including refining interagency communication and enhancing preparedness planning.

The exercise helps ensure that Lenawee County is better equipped for real-world emergencies and can respond swiftly to protect residents during prolonged outages.
