TECUMSEH — A proposal was passed by the Tecumseh Committee to add 2 electric vehicle charging stations to the Northeast Tecumseh Parking Lot off of North Ottawa Street.
The construction and maintenance of the stations will be done through Creek Enterprises, a local IT and construction company.
The installation is proposed to begin as early as May 27th, 2025 and can be done in as little as a few weeks. This construction will open up 4 electric vehicle parking spaces to allow travellers to top up their cars as they pass through Tecumseh.
This decision coincides with the newly passed “mobility plan” which aims at making transportation safer and more accessible. Next to the more accessible sidewalks, roundabouts, and bike paths these charging stations seem right at home. The charging stations are another step forward for Tecumseh to create a transportation network to support the residents, visitors, and businesses to thrive.
