ADRIAN — Lenawee County is covering supplies and orthodontic care for kids under the care of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Two payments — one for food, one for braces — revealed how public dollars quietly support some of Lenawee’s most vulnerable kids. According to the Accounts Payable Committee, the money will go towards helping 69 children with food and basic living needs.
On the surface, they’re just a couple of line items in a budget. But for the kids involved, it could mean a warm bed, a hot meal, or a smile that finally fits.
