James William Hook – Tecumseh

James William Hook, age 70, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born in Syracuse, NY, on December 30, 1954, the son of the late William Arthur and Norma (Kinning) Hook. On May 28, 1983, he was joined in marriage with Cynthia Sue Stover in Fayetteville, NY, and they enjoyed almost forty-two years together before his passing.

After apprenticing under his father, James spent thirty-one years in the skilled trades for General Motors before working ten years as a teaching aid in the Tecumseh Public School system. James loved spending his time golfing, fishing, relaxing on his pontoon boat, and donating his time to various Tecumseh Lacrosse programs of which he was involved for nearly twenty years. His favorite times though were when he was spending time with his friends and his family.

In addition to his wife, Cindy, James is survived by his son, Tristan (Rachel) Hook of Alden, IL; a grandson, Hudson James Hook of Alden, IL; his brother, Robert Hook of Baldwinsville, NY; two nieces, Jill (Scott) Wentworth of PA, and Hillary (Michael) Krystiniak of CT; and his brother-in-law, Scott (Barb) Stover of PA. James was preceded in death by his parents.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life at Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Tecumseh will be held on June 7th, 2025. Memorial contributions in honor of James may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society or to Tecumseh Youth Lacrosse.
