
James Wayne Edwards, age 91 years of Addison, formerly of Tennessee, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Springcreek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Adrian.
James was born on January 18, 1934, in Slayden, Tennessee, the son of Euel and Ollie B. (Smith) Edwards. After high school James studied to become a sheriff deputy. He spent over 20 years working at the Mc Cracken County Sheriff in Paducah, Kentucky. James married Marlene Rose Lelowicz on April 3, 1998 in Waverly, Tennessee. She survives. He attended St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church. He enjoyed cars, especially drag racing his GTO, fishing and family music gatherings. James had a special bond with his mother and brothers as his father passed when he was a very young boy.
Surviving James is his wife, Marlene, his grandson, Ryan Edwards, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, William, Claude, Gene and Edwin Edwards.
Family and friends will gather at St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church for visitation on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial Rite starting at 11:00 A.M. with Father Todd Koenigsknecht officiating. A luncheon will be served after the service. Cremation will follow with interment in the family plot in Tennessee at a later date.
