ADRIAN — A lawn mower and chainsaw charged to the Human Services Building stirred up a few grass-level concerns.
It wasn’t the price tag that raised eyebrows — it was the question of where the blades belonged. The purchases — $396 for the lawn mower and $208 for the chainsaw — showed up on the county’s accounts payable sheet. Commissioners asked whether the Human Services Building had this kind of equipment built into its budget. Staff couldn’t say for certain but suggested the gear might be shared between properties.
One official added it could be routine for maintenance staff to shuttle tools around depending on the season or need.
