Elida Hernandez Molina, age 87, of Fayette, died early Friday morning, May 16, 2025, at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold. Born August 30, 1937, in Weslaco, TX, she was the daughter of Amador and Sebastiana (Vasquez) Hernandez.
Elida married Marcos David Molina in 1956 in Arkansas, and they settled in Fayette in 1963. Together, they raised seven sons and enjoyed 46 years of devoted companionship until his death on New Years Day 2002.
Elida worked over 23 years at the former Fayette Tubular Products, alongside her husband, prior to her retirement. She proudly taught herself how to write and read both Spanish and English, and grew profoundly in her Christian faith over the years. Family was most important to Elida, and she loved any opportunity for a family gathering, where she was welcoming to all and made sure there was plenty of food to be enjoyed. She and Marcos took many trips across the country to visit extended family as well. As years passed, she enjoyed the blessings of her grandchildren, whom she adored. In recent years, she also enjoyed crossword puzzles, coloring, adding to her vast collection of lady bugs, and sitting quietly outside. She was faithfully attending Templo La Hermosa in Bryan, OH, until recent health issues.
Surviving are six sons, Marcos David (Lydia) Molina Jr. of Ft. Wayne, IN, Amador (Gloria) Molina of Columbus, OH, Reynaldo (Michelle) Molina of Nettle Lake, Victor Molina of Fayette, Fabion (Marisol) Molina of Fayette and Mitch Molina of Fayette; daughter-in-law, Anna Molina of Wauseon; siblings, Miguel (Beatrice) Hernandez of Defiance, Ebidio Hernandez of Fostoria, Lydia Hernandez of Defiance, Asencion Hernandez of Fostoria, and Dominga Gonzalez of GA; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jose Hernandez; son, Joseph H. Molina; and a grandson-in-law, Joe Bohner.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Fayette on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service for Elida will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 23, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Israel Aguilar officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
