Ellawayne Rose – Adrian

Ellawayne Rose, age 93, of Adrian, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.

Ellawayne was born May 29, 1931, in Haleyville, Alabama to James Walter and Dora Mae (Setliff) Goddard, one of ten children. Ellawayne was beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. On November 23, 1951, she married Grady B. Rose. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2003.

Ellawayne was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, she was past President of Business and Professional Women Past President of Adrian Women’s Club and also served as the Financial Secretary and Treasure, member of DAV Women’s Auxiliary and volunteered with Bixby Auxiliary. She retired from Bank of Lenawee. Ellawayne enjoyed all sports, bowling, and doing crafts, especially crochet and embroidery and her flowers.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey M. (Bonnie) Rose; her daughter Susan (John) Evans; two granddaughters, Constance (Kevin) Sellers and Cathy (Brandon) Bourke; five great-grandchildren: Alexandria (Tyrell) Blair, Max Sellers, Lauren Sellers, Arianna Brooks, and James Bourke; a great-great-grandson; Rohnan Blair; a sister-in-law, Lois Ann Gilbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ellawayne is preceded in death by her son, Gregory W. Rose, and nine siblings.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.
