TECUMSEH  The City of Tecumseh has issued a proclamation honoring Jim Lincoln, the outgoing owner, publisher and editor of the Tecumseh Herald.

During Monday night’s meeting of the Tecumseh City Council, Mayor Brian Radant read the proclamation, which recognized Lincoln’s 34 years in charge of the city’s weekly paper and congratulated him on his retirement.
Several past and present employees of the Herald were in attendance.

After receiving the proclamation, Lincoln invited his colleagues up for a group photo, thanking them for their work.

Lincoln assumed ownership of the Herald in 1991 upon his father Jim C. Lincoln’s retirement.

The Herald was owned by the Lincoln Family for 68 years, and during the younger Lincoln’s tenure, the paper welcomed a sister publication, Homefront Magazine.

Earlier this year, Lincoln sold the Herald to local businessman Rex Crist, who recently purchased another local newspaper, the Blissfield Advance.

Current employees Sharon Maher and Jackie Koch will take over respectively as the Herald’s publisher and editor.
