Airport Zoning Board Skips Secretary Role

ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Airport Zoning Board of Appeals is officially up and running — but without a secretary at the table.

At this week’s meeting, board members opted not to appoint a secretary, choosing instead to let the County Administrator’s office handle minutes, scheduling, and formal communications.

The shift means staff, not the board, will manage records and logistics moving forward. The secretary role was discussed briefly, but members agreed to strike it from the board’s procedures manual.

While the move streamlines operations, it also consolidates key responsibilities in the Administrator’s office — a change some may watch closely as the board begins reviewing future appeals.

The updated procedures manual will return for final approval at a future meeting.
