ADRIAN — Renovations at Maurice Spear Campus are now more than 50% complete, with construction progressing steadily toward full functionality by the end of the calendar year.
Commissioners recently approved a contract with Fishbeck for $28,850 to serve as the project’s commissioning agent. The firm will independently verify that all systems in the new detention and kitchen additions are properly installed and functioning, ensuring there is no appearance of contractor oversight influencing the process.
County officials say another walkthrough will be scheduled later in the year, and weekly progress photos remain available online for those tracking the expansion. Once construction wraps, juveniles will transition into the new facility so renovations can begin in the older detention area.
