LENAWEE COUNTY — A quiet ballot — but big implications: Voters in two Lenawee County school districts will decide the fate of local funding during Tuesday’s special election.
The May 6 election centers on millage proposals for Morenci Area Schools and Whiteford Agricultural Schools. Only voters who live within those district boundaries will see a ballot — and only if they’re registered.
Both proposals are renewals — not new taxes — aimed at continuing operational funding. That includes teacher salaries, classroom materials, building maintenance, and transportation.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Absentee ballots must be returned by the deadline to count.
For both districts, the outcome will shape next year’s budgets — and could ripple through staffing, student services, and long-term planning.
