ADRIAN, Mich. — Adrian Public Schools has issued a proclamation thanking teachers and administrators across the district in advance of National Teacher Appreciation Week, which takes place this year from May 5th through 9th.
Superintendent Nate Parker read the proclamation as part of the Good News Reports during Monday night’s meeting of the APS Board of Education.
The statement read in part, quote, “From Academics to the Arts, to extracurriculars, our teachers have provided a long-standing tradition of opportunities for all students with a well-rounded, cutting-edge education that helps them reach their full potential in a diverse and safe learning environment,” unquote.
The statement also highlighted the many roles teachers play daily, from teaching STEM and reading to providing mental health checks and counseling.
After reading the proclamation, Parker personally thanked his Administrative Assistant Angie Shaeffer, whom he credited for her work with the teachers throughout the district.
