ADRIAN, Mich. — On Thursday, May 1, Adrian Public Schools will partner with the Civil Air Patrol and SkyWalker Aviation to deliver a hands-on aerospace learning event for all K through 5 students.
The day is part of the Aerospace Connections in Education, or ACE, program; a national STEM curriculum that uses aerospace themes to teach science, math, reading, and more.
Students in kindergarten through third grade will stay on campus for three grade-level lessons led by teachers and guest presenters. Fourth and fifth graders will head to the Lenawee County Airport to visit the Adrian Civil Air Patrol Building for interactive STEM activities.
The ACE program is free and has reached more than 700,000 students nationwide. Lessons are tied to academic standards and include educational materials and manipulatives for each student.
The May 1st event kicks off at 12:00 p.m. Guests should check in at the Prairie Elementary office by 11:45 a.m. to attend.
