Joyce Elaine Wiesmann, age 83, of Adrian, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
Joyce was born on December 19, 1941, in Tecumseh, MI, the oldest of Lyle and Gladys (Engel) Calhoun’s four children. She attended Adrian Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1959.
On September 17, 1960, Joyce married her sweetheart Henry “Hank” Joseph Wiesmann at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Adrian. They celebrated over 53 years together before Hank’s death in 2014.
Joyce stayed home with her daughter and son when they were young and enjoyed being involved in their activities. The family looked forward to their summer vacation each year and shared many fond memories from traveling in the family car towards their new destination. Joyce and Hank were committed members to the 4H Service Club and Raisin Presbyterian Church in Britton, MI. Joyce gave of her time and talents in many ways; and served as the Clerk of Session for 30 years at her church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hendricks and son, Lance Wiesmann; granddaughter, Erinn (Paul) Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Luka, Solomon and Mya Gilbert; and siblings, Jane (Cort) Rule, Gregg (LeeAnn) Calhoun and Gini (Tim) Roberts. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Hank.
Following Joyce’s wishes, cremation will take place with no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
