ADRIAN, Mich. – The Lenawee Community Foundation hosted their annual meeting to a packed house at the Adrian Armory on Thursday morning. Foundation accomplishments from the past year along with leadership awards were presented.
The Lenawee Community Foundation reported several accomplishments for the 2024-2025 year. Through the foundation, over $360,000 in scholarships were given out to over 200 Lenawee County students. This represented a $100,000 increase from 2023. The Hunters Helping Lenawee fund donated over 5,000 pounds of venison to area food banks and organizations to feed those in the Lenawee community. The biggest news shared at the event was that the 2 million dollar goal for the Lenawee Health, Happiness and Hope fund was exceeded in just 12 month. This is an unrestricted and permanent fund that allows for rapid and flexible impact to many organizations. Over 200 donors participated to exceed this goal.
The Lenawee Community Foundation gives awards annually to recognize individuals and organizations in the community who serve at the highest levels. Gary and Cindy Gray were recognized with the Lenawee Lifetime Legacy Award, an award that hasn’t been presented since 2017. This award recognizes lasting impact to the community. Robert Vogel was presented with the annual Lenawee Leadership Award. Former Adrian College President Dr. Stanely Caine and his wife Karent Caine were presented with the Stubnitz Award and Jacob Wright was presented with the Incito Award, recognizing community leadership for those under 40.
Bronna Kahle, President and CEO of the Lenawee Community Foundation closed the meeting by thanking those in attendance for their leadership and contributions, making Lenawee a stronger community.
