Mark Cameron McCartney passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, surrounded by his family under the care of hospice.
Mark was born on July 6, 1957, in Bay City, Michigan
Mark enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, at the cabin and spending time with his family and friends. He worked for General Motors 30 years and retired in 2008.
He had seven Golden Retrievers over the years and loved them all. When he wasn’t outside with his dogs, he enjoyed blues music and western movies and shows. He was also an avid NASCAR fan having attended the races with Gail for over forty years.
Sometimes called “Old Man.” Mark was also known as the family “Big Foot Club” president.
Mark is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail McCartney, his two sons, Kyle (Taylor) and Kris (Amber), his grandsons, Jayson and Aiden, and his fur buddy Gunner, his God daughter, Kari (David) Bye, and countless nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” and Joyce McCartney.
During his last days in hospice, Mark took the time to write this obituary himself.
Funeral Services for Mark will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 11,2025, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Darren Lemmon officiating. Burial will follow at Rollin Friends Cemetery, Rollin Township. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
