Betty Lou Jones, age 78, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on April 7, 2025, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee.
She was born on April 1, 1947, in Monroe, MI, the daughter of the late Terrie and Agnes M. (Hughson) Johnston. After graduating from high school, Betty began her career in the retail industry, working as a sales associate at a local jewelry store. She later went on to own and operate her own cleaning service, where she was known for her attention to detail, dedication, and work ethic.
A devoted Christian, Betty was a faithful member of the Tecumseh Assembly of God for over ten years. Her life was a reflection of her deep faith and her unwavering love for two things she held dearest—Jesus Christ and her family.
Betty is survived by her children, April (Van) Wright of Tecumseh, MI, and Aaron (Lisa) Worthington of Monroe, MI; her sisters, Beverly Johnston of New Boston, MI, and Bernice Collier of Carleton, MI; and her beloved grandchildren, Kori (Cristina) Worthington, and Christian (Taylor Owens) Worthington, both of Monroe, MI, and Pallin and Gabriel Wright, both of Tecumseh, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Lake.
In accordance with Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future at the Tecumseh Assembly of God, with Pastor Mitchell Frost officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh Assembly of God.
