Blissfield, MI – A precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for Blissfield water customers due to elevated turbidity levels in tap water samples collected at the treatment plant.
The samples were collected on April 5th, 6th, and 7th. The Village’s water source, the River Raisin, is currently experiencing seasonal high turbidity, which may indicate contamination…according to the Village.
Testing has returned negative results, and no violations of drinking water standards have been detected.
Blissfield is collecting additional water samples throughout the system, and in the meantime, is recommended that residents use either boiled or bottled water for consumption until further testing confirms the water’s safety.
It is safe to shower, wash hands and have contact with the water. The Village of Blissfield expects to have the situation resolved within two to three days. You can view the advisory, and learn more about what turbidity is, on the Village website here: https://blissfieldmichigan.gov/
