Simon Andrew Brown, age 20, of Blissfield, Michigan, passed away on March 31, 2025. He attended Munising High School and graduated in 2022. He was a beloved son, brother and friend.
Born on August 11, 2004, Simon grew up with a passion for nature. His love of fishing and gamesmanship began at his family home on Pence Highway. He began trapping game under the age of 10 and fishing in the family pond. Simon spent countless hours fishing in streams, lakes and rivers in pursuit of brook trout, smallmouth bass and monster pike.
A gifted athlete, he found joy on the basketball court, where his competitive drive always shined. Whether casting a rod or sinking a three-pointer at the buzzer, Simon lived life with intensity and was wild at heart.
Simon is deeply loved and will be missed by his mother Sara (Sellick) Brown and his siblings, Jonah, Hannah, Samuel, Jacob and Emily; grandmothers, Kathleen (Hiltman) Sellick and Kay (Hause) Brown; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, G. Andrew Brown, and grandfathers, Curtis Sellick and George Brown.
Burial will be private at Riga Cemetery. The family will be available for a memorial visitation starting at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield. A farewell gathering and time of sharing will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the time of sharing, there will be a pickup basketball game at Blissfield Middle School from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to honor Simon’s love of the game. For those unable to attend, a video recording of the time of sharing will be made available online.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sara Brown Family.
