Emma Victoria Held – Addison

Emma Victoria Held, age 97 years of Addison, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Henry Ford Hospital Jackson. She was born on February 12, 1928, in Belleville, the daughter of Foster Monroe and Martha May (Pelton) Gay. Emma lived her early life in Willis, Ypsilanti and moved to Addison in 1963. She graduated from Lincoln Consolidated Schools in 1946.

Emma married Donald L. Held, Sr. on August 10, 1946 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2008. She worked as an auditor for Sears in Ann Arbor for 32 years, retiring in 1989. Emma enjoyed crocheting, handy crafts and working in her flower garden. She was a member of Addison Senior Citizens in Addison and TOPS in Onsted.

Emma is survived by two daughters, Pamela Held of Mason, Diane Brauker of Lake Somerset, one son, Donald L. (Cheryl) Held, Jr. of Lake Somerset, six grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, one sister, Alice Baker, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Barbara Held, a son, Kim Held, grandson, Darren Held, great grandson, Brian Aungst, her parents, a sister, Elsie Clary and two brothers, Robert and Devern Gay.

Funeral Services for Emma will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison with Pastor Joe Masinick officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Addison. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
