
Adrian, MI – Downtown buildings in the 100 block of West Maumee Street in Adrian sustained heavy fire and water damage Saturday night. Multiple departments from the area responded to the blaze, which was first reported at around 6pm.
The majority of the fire was on the roof of the three end buildings… closest to Winter Street. Fire and water damage has impacted several apartments and businesses within the 100 block of West Maumee.
The City of Adrian issued a statement following the fire within the 100 block of West Maumee that happened Saturday night.
It said, in part: “Our community was devastated by a tragic fire in historic Downtown Adrian on Saturday, March 15th, 2025. The buildings at 117, 119, 121, and 123 West Maumee Street were significantly damaged by fire, water, and smoke.
There is also potential smoke damage at 115 West Maumee Street. Thankfully, there were no injuries sustained by owners or residents nor to our brave and dedicated firefighters.
We want to thank the Adrian Fire Department, the Adrian Police Department, the Department of Public Works, and the Salvation Army Canteen for their efforts, support and scene management. This event was contained because of the support of our neighboring fire departments.”
The City of Adrian also thanked several communities for their support: Adrian Township, Ridgeway Township, City of Tecumseh, Madison Township, Blissfield, Morenci, Sand Lake, Deerfield, Palmyra, Raisin Township, and Addison, as well as out- of-county support from the Bedford Fire Department, Manchester Fire Department, and Lyons, Ohio Fire Department.
There were 3 businesses and 5 residents affected by the fire. The Downtown Adrian Main Street Board will announce a relief effort to assist those in need.
