She was born February 23, 1938, in Boston, MA to Irving and Josephine (Potts) Anderson. In 1959 she married Gary D. McNitt, who survives. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in October 2024.
Judy grew up in Ann Arbor, graduating from University High School in 1955. She attended Michigan State University and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
After college, Judy returned to Ann Arbor and was employed by the University of Michigan in public relations. She later taught at the Adrian Pre-School Nursery, retiring after 25 years in 1991. Judy was then a retail merchandiser for Hallmark Corp. She enjoyed golf, reading, walking, casinos and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Gary, Judy is survived by their sons, Mark (Linda) of Richmond, VA, and Scott (Maria) of Las Vegas, NV; twin sister, Nancy Gutherie of Sacramento, CA and another sister Mary Lou Supernaw of Charlevoix, MI. She also had 5 grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Zakary (Amber), Andrew, Caitlin Carter (Ryan) and Gretchen; as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Madison and Ava Williams, along with Aubrey and Zak Jr. McNitt. Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
At Judy’s request, there will be no visitation or service and she wanted to be cremated.
