MSP: Manitou Beach Resident Arraigned on 3 Counts of Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material

Manitou Beach, MI – The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has announced the arrest of a 53-year-old Manitou Beach resident.

Harold Leroy Knight Jr. was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.

The MSP says that Knight Jr. was arrested following an investigation which was initiated when cyber tips were received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation led to a residence in Manitou Beach. A search warrant was executed at the residence, where electronic evidence was seized.

Knight Jr. was arraigned at the 2A District Court in Lenawee County on Wednesday. If convicted, Knight Jr. faces up to 10 years in prison for each count of aggravated child sexually abusive material and up to 10 years in prison for using a computer to commit a crime.

The MSP Computer Crimes Unit encourages parents to speak to their children and family members about safe use of the internet.
