
Hudson, MI – Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s Office of Rural Prosperity announced the recipients of $1.3 million in Rural Readiness Grant Program funding…including Hudson Area Schools.
The program is designed to help rural communities build capacity, drive economic development and improve quality of life for residents.
Hudson Area Schools has been awarded $50,000 to conduct a feasibility study to determine the best use of a newly available 40-acre parcel in Hudson, developing a long-term plan to attract investment and support economic growth.
Region 2 Planning Commission will get $40,000 to establish a gravel cycling initiative by creating Rural Recreation Hubs to support local economies and revitalize rural communities affected by population and income decline.
