
Rome Twp., MI – A 29-year-old Waldron man was killed, and his 27-year-old female passenger from Waldron was injured, in a single vehicle suspected drunk driving crash over the weekend in Rome Township.
The Michigan State Police Monroe Post report that Troopers were dispatched to the crash at around 7pm Saturday on US-223 near Woerner Road.
Preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that a White Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling eastbound on US 223 Hwy when it left the roadway and struck a tree. At this time, the Michigan State Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, the Cambridge Township Police Department, the Lenawee Community Ambulance, the Addison Fire Department and the Cambridge Township Fire Department.
