Edward J. Hitt, age 84, of Morenci, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, February 13, 2025, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late James Albert and Lilly Lee (Busby) Hitt. Ed was raised in and attended school in Maryland. He married his soulmate, Marilyn K. Dillon, not once but two times, August 2, 1980 and again on June 18, 1989.

Ed worked hard all his life. As a young man, he helped his father with his tree service business, and continued tree work for quite some time. He worked many job at horse race stables as well as working as a roofer, factory worker and painted water towers, including the one in his backyard in Morenci. He was always busy whether at home or work, you couldn’t slow him down. He loved his family and friends and made sure they all knew it too! He loved being outside no matter how hot or cold though he preferred warm weather so he could ride his Harley. If he could take that Motorcycle with him now, he for sure would.

He is survived by his children, James Edward Hitt and Amanda Jo (Rodney) Price; grandchildren, Cody A Dunn, Eric (Amber) Hitt, Tiffany (Staci) Hittman, Joseph Hitt, and Cody Hitt; two great-grandchildren, Evangeline Hitt and Ellie Hitt; and a brother, Robert Hitt.
