
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Deborah Sue Marriott, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on February 13, 2025, at the age of 64, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Born on November 1, 1960, in Detroit, MI, Deborah was a radiant light whose kindness and compassion touched the lives of many.
Deborah was the cherished daughter of Buster and Betty (Doyle) Marriott, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her four children: Joseph (Mandi) Treacey of Munith, MI, Matthew (Kassidy) Treacey of Brooklyn, MI, Erin (Matt) Miller of Grass Lake, MI, and Devin Young of Addison, MI. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren: McKenna, Logan, Avery, Tony, and Lukus, who brought immense joy and laughter to her life. five siblings: Donnie (Cathy) Marriott, Steven (Terri) Marriott, Scott (Norma) Marriott, Cathy Ann (preceded in death by her husband Marvin) Hensley, Cindy (Mark) Harris and her former spouse, John Treacey.
For over 30 years, Deborah dedicated her life to serving her community as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Jackson. She took great pride in her work and instilled a strong sense of duty and compassion in those around her. Deborah served as the Union President of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Branch 232, advocating for her colleagues with passion and integrity.
Beyond her professional achievements, Deborah was known for her selflessness and deep compassion for others. She was a woman who always sought to help those in need, organizing toy drives each Christmas at the USPS for children who might otherwise go without. Deborah had a soft spot for animals, and her beloved dog, Bruce, was a constant companion, reflecting her caring nature. Deborah’s hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, which she cherished above all else. Her love for family and her genuine compassion for others made her a remarkable individual—caring, loving, and ever selfless.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home, Addison, on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Cascades Humane Society or Jackson County Animal Shelter.
